SSC, formerly known as Subordinate Services Commission, is a staff recruitment organization under the Government of India. SSC Recruitment is done every year. The online system makes the collection and compilation of vacancies trouble-free. SSC generally calls for online applications in February and March every year. Tentative important dates are announced. Candidates have to go through two steps to apply. Step-1 is the One-time Registration. This stage demands personal details of the candidate including his family, address, recent passport size photograph and signature. Here a unique registration number and password is generated that can be used for application to any SSC Job later on. Stage-2 is the Application Filling Part. An online application form, consisting of 21 fields, is to be filled. Educational qualifications are required at this step. So the candidate should keep the DMCs handy. Candidate should make sure to fill all fields before saving. Fee can be paid through net-banking or computer-generated e-challan. A print of the form should be taken for future reference.
SSC conducts various examinations and holds interviews for various SSC Vacancies. SSC Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Examination is conducted to fill in the various vacancies. SSC CGL requires a Bachelor’s degree in any stream from a recognized Indian University. The age of candidates must be between 18 and 27 years as on 1st January of test-taking year. The application fee is very nominal i.e. Rs.100 for candidates belonging to general category. All women candidates and candidates belonging to SC/ST/PHC/Ex-Servicemen are exempted from paying the fee. SSC Requirement can be fulfilled also by candidates who are in the last semester of their degree.
For filling SSC Jobs, one has to take the SSC Exam. There are four tiers in the examination. First, two tiers are computer-based test covering General Intelligence, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, English Comprehension, Statistics, and Finance & Accounts. The third tier is pen and paper-based that evaluates on the subjective basis of essay, precis, and letter writing in Hindi / English. It is of 100 marks. Tier 4 is the Data Entry Speed Test to evaluate the candidate’s computer proficiency. It is a skill-based test of 100 marks. In some SSC Recruitment, this test is replaced by interview. There is no interview for non-gazetted posts. The successful candidates are sent to the user department within 6 months.
